Event recap: Beyblade X Outside Fan Expo

Hello community,

I am back again with a new event recap. This was a much much much smaller event held in Toronto outside FanExpo. I was fully healed for this event and was excited to participate. While there were few people who attended the event, this event featured very high level beybladers. One noticeable absence from this event was my good friend Ali12345456.

Ali12345456 had won the previous event and I was very excited to face him. However, his absence was covered by high level GTA beybladers suchs as:

Hato: A training partner for both Ali12345456 and 1234beyblade, his past record does not do him justice. In the past event, he narrowly missed 3rd place and placed 4th. However, he went undefeated in the Prelims and has been strong consistently.

Zankye: A famed youtuber, he has always consistently placed top 3 in all events I have been a part of. I regard him highly because of ingenuity as he is consistently inventing new combos. He is one of the few beyblades who has used Dranzer and KnightLance successfully. Don't trust his happy go lucky and fun demeanor. He WILL crush you.

Henwooja1: Another great youtuber, if you have been in Beyblade (atleast for the past year), you have probably heard his name. You wanna know why? Because he is usually always placing 1st. He is extremely good with his combos and he is not to be taken lightly.

Dan: One of the OG pillars of the community, he has been into beyblades since the OG days. He has organized multiple events and is extremely helpful. If you need any guidance on any of the older beyblades, I always recommend Dan. There is a reason why he is "Dan, the man with the plan".

1234beyblade: A fierce attack type beyblader, his launch speed is off the charts. He is able to use his Dransword to its limit and very rarely loses. He has finished top 3 in every Beyblade X tournament he has competed in.

I liked this event a lot more because due to smaller number of participants, we all got a chance to battle against each other in a 3v3 deck format. The prelims surprised me a bit as I went 6-1. Unsurprisingly, 1234beyblade came in undefeated with 7 wins in the prelims.

In the semis, I was against Hato and it was probably one of my hardest matches. His HellsScythe 4-60N combo was extremely strong and I had to modify my launch to win with my Knightshield 3-60HN. After that tense battle, my finals with 1234beyblade was much easier unfortunately due to self KOs. However, when no self KOs took place, my counterattack DranSword 3-80B did well and defensive KnightShield 3-60HN also performed well.

The final results were as follows:

From left to right: 2nd place 1234Beyblade, 1st place Skynet, 3rd place originalzankye

1. Skynet (HellsScythe 4-60T, KnightShield 3-60HN, DranSword 3-80B)

Mostly found success with with counter attack Dransword 3-80B during prelims and defensive Knightshield 3-60HN during the semis and finals.

2. 1234Beyblade (DranSword 3-60, KnightShield 3-80T, HellsScythe 4-60HN)

Had extremely successful attack Dransword 3-60F and great counter attacker in Hellscythe 4-60HN and Knightshield 3-80T

3. originalzankye (KnightLance 3-60T, WizardArrow 4-60B, KnightShield 3-80HN)

Found great success with his counterattack turned attack beyblade KnightLance 3-60T. He also had some great defensive combos with Wizard arrow 4-60B and Knightshield 3-80HN

This event only solidified my previous view of counterattacks being extremely good in the current Beyblade X meta. This is usually accomplished by using defensive bits with blades that have weaker attack. This sort of provides the best of all words because it gives the safety of not taking the Dash X rail too many times (which exhausts stamina) and still providing attack. Due to defensive bit being used, the beyblade is also less likely to self KO.

Note: Small correction for the video, Skynet was 1st and 1234Beyblader was 2nd.
