Taking Sides: Whose side are you on anyways?

Hello community,

I am back with some tests to see the performance of different blades with ratchets. I decided to do this test to see which ratchet and blade combo is ideal.

To test, I used Needle bit because that sharp tip is the most sensitive to any weight balance differences. Please keep in mind, this test is NOT to see which beyblade combination is good. This is merely to see which ratchet has a better weight balance with what blade.

Methodology:

Each blade was spun 3 times on Needle bit. Since this test was to test the weight balance of the blade and ratchet combo, I decided to go with Needle since its sharp tip makes it very sensitive to weight imbalance. Due to time constraints I only decided to spin each combo 3 times and took the average. However to make the results more accurate, a large sample size of 10 spins would be better. Since Dran Dagger, Hells Chain, Rhino Horn, and 5-80 were not available they were not included in this test.

Results:

Hells Scythe

3-60: Average 1:47.93 (1:38.41, 1:56.26, 1:49.12)

4-60: Average  1:47.69 (1:50.04, 1:52.76, 1:40.29)

5-60: Average 2:00.87 (1:58.93, 1:57.63, 2:06.06)

Best ratchet: 5

Note: due to how close 3 and 4 sided ratchets are in times, we need further testing (more spin samples) to determine if 4 is better than 3.

Shark Edge

3-60: Average 1:31.96 (1:31.38, 1:36.02, 1:28.32)

4-60: Average 0:49:91 (0:50.13, 0:49.81, 0:49.80)

4-60: Average 1:24.03 (1:22.58, 1:22.65, 1:26.78)

5-60: Average 1:35.47 (1:27.50, 1:33.03, 1:45.88)

Best ratchet: 5

Discussion:

As the above result show 5-60 was best with 5 blades, 3-60 was great with 3 blades while 4-60 was not really the best blade to use with any blade. However, please keep in mind that in some instances 4-60 was very close to 3-60 such as Hells Scythe. In such cases, a larger sample size would be more appropriate to distinguish the performance. 4-60 also tends to be slightly off center for most blades (even 4 sided ones) which makes it not ideal. I am not sure if this was done on purpose or this was a slight error. Nevertheless, this makes 5 sided ratchets the most valuable, 3 second most valuable and lastly, 4 which is ONLY used if the 3 and 5 are already in use. There should ideally also be 0 reason for ANYONE to use 4-80 because not only it is taller (making it more burst prone and have lower stamina) but also because 4 sided ratchet doesn't really balance most blades.
